Who We Are
Rockville Meals On Wheels is a nonprofit all-volunteer organization that's been serving the Rockville, MD area for over forty years.
Who We Serve
Rockville Meals on Wheels serves housebound elderly, convalescents, and persons with disabilities who are unable to prepare meals for themselves.
Volunteers deliver healthy meals each weekday morning (Monday - Friday). Two meals are delivered -- a ready-to-eat hot meal for lunch and a cold meal for dinner.
Friendly Caller Program
Regular social contact is critical, but especially hard to find in these socially isolated times. To help our clients feel more connected we've launched a Friendly Caller program, which pairs our volunteers and clients for regular friendly phone calls. Anyone receiving meals from Rockville Meals on Wheels can participate.
Cost of the Service
An affordable weekly cost of meals applies. Billing is weekly or monthly, payable in advance by mail or on Mondays during delivery. Checks should be made out to Rockville Meals On Wheels. Cash payment in the exact amount is also accepted. We hope to allow payments online in the future.
Holidays and Office Closures
The Rockville Meals on Wheels office is closed with no meals being delivered on the following holidays:
New Year's Day
In cases of adverse winter weather, Rockville Meals on Wheels follows Montgomery County Public Schools for closures and delays. When schools are closed, our office is closed and no meals are delivered. When schools are opening on a two-hour delay, our office is open on time and meals are delivered as usual. Delay/closure information can be found on the Montgomery County Public Schools website.
